Pune-Based Axia Foods Launches ‘World’s First’ Plant-Based Butter with Protein

Axia Foods, a plant-based foods startup located in Pune, has launched what it calls ‘the world’s first cultured almond butter with protein’.

The new product – grenbutter – has been developed after several months of research and development, with Axia using their unique formulation, design, process and technology to create the cultured & churned almond butter.

According to the company, it is a game changer since it is the only vegan butter with protein and is a perfect answer for all queries raised against the nutritional value of plant-based butter.

The clean’est’ butter?

grenbutter is crafted with only three simple ingredients – probiotic cultured almond butter, coconut oil and sunflower lecithin. It is preservative-free and keto-friendly too.

This vegan butter, which has 8g of almond protein /70g per pack, functions just like regular butter, the company says in a media statement.

Priced at ₹ 80/70g, the unsalted grenbutter is shelf stable for two months when kept in the refrigerator.

The product is free from cholesterol, trans fat and vegetable hydrogenated fat. The product is high in heart health friendly MUFA, PUFA and MCT’S.

AXIA Foods had earlier launched Prochez Almond cheese Protein bar and grenyogert Probiotic plant based yoghurts. Its founder Jasmin K Shaikh has been honored with “Rising star & Disruptor of the Year 2021” By VWS x IMPOSSIBLE FOODS.

AXIA has also been awarded with “Innovative start-up of the year 2021” by Maharashtra state innovation society, Maharashtra Government. Recently Axia developed and shared the plant based production technology to NASA’S Deep Space Food Challenge for a space mission.
