Low-calorie ice cream brand The Brooklyn Creamery has announced the launch of two new vegan flavours – Acai Berry Banana and Salted Peanut Butter – in India. The company that entered into the Indian dairy-free ice cream market early this year says that this is the first time Acai Berry-flavoured ice cream has been launched in the country.
The Brooklyn Creamery mentions in a social media post “With just 99 calories a scoop, every bite is packed with a fruity, anti-oxidant filled blast of Banana and Acai Berry to give you an unforgettable dairy-free experience.” The company, however, did not mention anything about the Vegan Salted Peanut Butter, but our team found out that the flavour is already available on their website for ₹ 349/450ml tub.
The company currently offers its ice creams in select Indian cities, including Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Surat and Pune. One can buy their ice creams through food delivery platforms and select retail stores.
The vegan ice cream trend is picking up fast in the country with several homegrown and international brands rolling out new vegan flavours to meet customer demand. Due to the growing awareness around the health benefits of plant-based ingredients, customers are increasingly adopting this way of life. The Brooklyn Creamery is one of the newest entrants in this segment, and has already launched four different flavours within a span of two months.
