What is it?
Wakao’s Jack Burger Patty is a ready to cook vegan meat patty made of ingredients such as jackfruit, onion, corn flour, sunflower oil, ginger, garlic, spices, potato, jackfruit seed flour, mustard sauce, amongst others. One 150 gm box comes with four individually-packed patties.
Our Take:
Wakao’s Jack Burger Patty offers a pleasant change in taste for vegans, who are often left with the option of potato-based burger patties only. Jackfruit is often called vegetarian’s meat, and so, it isn’t hard to believe that the meaty texture can easily be perfected with this locally grown fruit in India. Wakao has been pretty successful in replicating the texture of meat and has done a good job in creating flavourful patties out of jackfruit.
We liked the taste, but missed the fibrous texture of soy that is closer to meat. Wakao’s Jack Burger patties are a healthier substitute to regular patties, and we would definitely recommend it for everyone, including non-vegans. Overall, a tasty patty for your homemade burger!
