What is it?
Urban Platter Good Spoon Plant-Based Ghee is a dairy-free ghee alternative that is made from ingredients such as interesterified vegetable fat, curcumin extract and vegan ghee flavour. The plant-based ghee is fortified with vitamins A and D. According to the manufacturers, the ghee is free from cholesterol and trans-fats.
Our Take:
Urban Platter’s vegan ghee has been quite successful in replicating the texture and flavour of dairy ghee. It behaves like regular ghee and is capable of replacing it in almost all dishes. We tried making halwa with it and also used it for tempering; the result was impressive! It blends well with all dishes and doesn’t leave a strong smell associated with some plant-based ghee versions in the market. What we love the most is that it is completely palm oil-free, which is often a concern for vegans while buying products.
